Myrine is taken under heavy guard to Beldarius’ castle, ensconced behind huge gated walls, which incorporate his full army’s barracks and training grounds. Threatened by Crontanorius upon entering the castle grounds, she is paraded through the Courtyard of Shadows and delivered to her aunt Eugenia. Eugenia, of Adelstein descent, was thrown out of Tsaonin by Myrine’s Grandma, who caught her dabbling in dark magic. Encouraged by Surneal, the Ruler of the Dark Forces, she married Beldarius, Ruler of the Betwoniumm army and had become a powerful black witch, who hated Tsaonin and all those who represented the Light Forces.
