Chapter 21: The Burrow’s Vigil

Exhausted, Myrine and Rollandario go into a temporary shelter in a natural burrow near the final exit portal Rollandario had used as a hideout in the past. As they wait for the “Quantum Gold” sunrise, the silence of the Betwonium plains returns, though it is no longer the silence of the Shutterlings. In the quiet hours, Myrine reflects on the journey from the wine estate of Silken Oak with the goal of reaching Tsaonin. She has evolved from a fearful student into a master of the Door, a bridge between two worlds. The vigil is a moment of deep bonding and recovery, as she prepares her heart for the final choice: returning to the safety of Earth or journeying onward towards Tsaonin into a new age.
